Creating More Than Just NFT PFPs with y00ts NFTs

These designs are common among casual web users and those who would prefer not use their own photographs since they typically incorporate images of characters or avatars. Their status as NFTs gives them substantial collector appeal within the NFT market, setting them apart from other profile image artworks. In the history of the NFT market as a whole, there have been a lot of PFP NFT initiatives, but this one looks like it's here to stay.
Creating y00ts wasn't the original intent of the Solana NFT project. Duppies was supposed to be an expansion collection within the DeGods ecosystem that was developed by the team behind DeGods. The developers, however, saw that Duppies weren't comprehensive enough. The y00ts white paper declares the project's goal to be "a common-sense version of copyright & ownership for NFTs." In the minds of the creators, y00ts should operate similarly to a standard copyright, with a few key distinctions. Intellectual property rights are often managed by a single organization. When it comes to decentralized governance of y00ts, the NFT collection will step in as the entity in charge. Using y00ts, IP rights aren't tied to a single entity, but rather live in a register where anybody can see who has been granted permission to use which NFT's IP. No one knows if this original idea will take off, but y00ts will be an interesting test of a novel approach to licensing. Frank, the creator of DeGods, and Kevin, the CEO of Dust Labs, conceived the y00ts Solana NFT project. Developing the Solana Plan DeGods is not just a repository for digital artwork; it's also a hub for designers, coders, artists, and other visionaries. And Dust Labs is a software firm that focuses on increasing the value of NFTs for their holders. It's impossible to imagine a more effective founding combo than DeGods and Dust Labs.
Even if the project hasn't begun yet, the NFTs' appeal is clear. You may observe that scholarship applications to mint y00ts NFTs are closed by simply visiting the website. The fact that Frank and Kevin are open book on Twitter certainly helps. As if that weren't enough, y00ts is unique in its determination to change the copyright landscape by focusing exclusively on PFPs. PFP initiatives are often an afterthought in larger projects.
In the y00ts store, PFP owners will be able to buy and sell items that alter their characters' appearance. Designers get paid a cut of the proceeds from licensing their qualities to other companies. Artists are not obligated to offer the attribute at no cost to the consumer. Note that access to the shop won't come as a matter of course. To get the y token needed to make purchases, you'll need to stake a y00ts NFT for 30 days.
To design a unique y00ts characteristic, one must first submit it for review. However, there are certain limitations: Authors whose features are accepted will be awarded y (y00ts copyright) over the IP.
Thankfully, not just artists may succeed financially.
In other words, y00ts musicians won't have to whine about their money accounts drying up. Once a characteristic is accepted, the inventor is the exclusive owner of the permission to use that trait. That means they get to establish their own rates, choose whether to take SOL or DUST (the DeGods community token), and keep 5% of all profits. Instead, the token's value is set by supply and demand on the open market. One DUST token now costs about $1.51 USD. Artists may choose the available number, giving them sway over supply and, perhaps, increasing demand for unique characteristics. Designers may also make their own fashion labels for the set, which can then be used on a wide variety of characteristics. And finally, y00ts holders will be able to contract artists for paid work.
Those who are willing to take risks can, fortunately, amass substantial cash without ever having to create a single characteristic. The y00ts shop will no longer take them after that time. When this occurs, holders will be able to split their y00ts into smaller amounts. The unique objects, which will be in short quantity, can then be sold. The y00ts can be exchanged for different abilities. Artists are not the only ones who may form y00ts clubs, a form of subculture centered on commissioning of unique features. To do this, all they have to do is select an artist from the y00ts shop. The creators of y00ts foresee clubs centered on things like memes and shared hobbies, however y00ts holders will likely come up with surprises of their own. All characteristics of a club that have been registered are protected by one y00ts copyright, allowing the club's founder to profit from the club's existence. If a y00ts member purchases a characteristic from their club, the club will pay them a royalty. The rights to qualities can also be sold by club owners for DUST or SOL.
The rarity structure of y00ts may be roughly summarized as follows, give or take a few percentage points: Time has passed since the initial y00ts release date of September 2, 2022. Inexplicably, on August 31 numerous members of the y00ts crew had their accounts temporarily suspended by Twitter. The y00ts team relies heavily on Twitter for communication, so the suspensions have made it difficult to get everything ready for launch. Sunday, September 4th, at "like 2 pm" was supposedly the new launch date. On the other hand, the team encountered a blocker problem, delaying the mint once again as they revealed on Twitter. A fortune teller would be useful right about now, as they would know the market cap and the priciest transaction, but unfortunately, they are not. If you want to know that information as soon as it becomes available following the launch, you may do so here. Currently, the highest price at which these NFTs have been sold is 200 SOL. On the other hand, they may be found for an astonishing 800 SOL on the secondary market. The maximum sale price for the cap generated a market capitalization of roughly 2.8 billion sol.
Within 24 hours after debut, the floor price jumped from 124 SOL (about $6,138 at the time) to 186 SOL (approximately $6,138 at the time), dropping briefly to 129 just after 6 a.m. on September 6. After seeing the DeGods make a reappearance, we now know that y00ts and DeGods creator Frank understands how to increase ticket prices. Given that Kevin, the company's co-founder, is an expert in increasing NFT value, the y00ts base price has a good chance of increasing as well. The enthusiastic anticipation shown by people who plan to purchase y00ts tokens is another evidence that things may go swimmingly.
Scholarship awardees were the first to get their hands on y00ts. They paid 375 DUST, the native token of the DeGods system (now roughly $725, but the value was greater at launch), for the privilege of minting the coin. Even though only 15,000 NFTs were ever issued, many have already been created. While scholarship recipients did receive first dibs on the y00ts, that wasn't their only option. The rest of us, thankfully, are not without alternatives.
To mint an NFT, individuals had to apply for a scholarship to be placed on the "y00tlist," which functioned like a presale list. Unfortunately, the application deadline for the y00ts scholarship collection has passed, and if you're reading this, it's too late for you to apply. Even if you tried it in the days leading up to liftoff, it would have been too late. The deadline for submissions was September 2, which was two days earlier than originally announced. The people working on the Solana NFT project insist they hired only the most qualified candidates. The term "merit" is used here to refer to those who are expected to be valuable contributors to the community. The developers believe that a well selected community will promote the growth of y00ts. Concerns that "merit" may be interpreted to imply "has a large Twitter following" are unfounded. Everybody had to identify themselves as some state of creative professional, whether an artist, a memeter, or something else else. Those who weren't selected for the y00tlist have nowhere else to turn but the open NFT market.
You may always go to the secondary market if you fail to obtain a y00ts NFT on the primary market. Solana's best NFT market, Magic Eden, is a great option. A new NFT market appears every second, so it's prudent to remain with a tried-and-true option like Magic Eden. The selection on Rarible is now substantial as well.
Like I said before, you can't know for sure if y00ts NFTs are a great long-term investment unless you had a crystal ball. Nonetheless, anyone keeping tabs on the situation may safely assume that they will be. To explain, these are the reasons why: The other reason for optimism is too high to include in a list of bullet points. The developers of y00ts, Dust Labs, have just secured a $7 million software. Participants in the round were Chapter One, Foundation Capital, FTX Ventures, Jump Capital, Metaplex, and Solana Ventures. These backers' faith in y00ts' potential contributed significantly to their boldness.
Y00ts has the ability to revolutionize the NFT PFP industry and much outshine any other PFP efforts now underway. It stands out from the crowd in a competitive industry because to its ground-breaking approach to IP management, laser-like concentration on PFPs, and commitment on establishing a thriving community from the very beginning.
