Horizen is a cryptocurrency and blockchain network that focuses on anonymity. Its purpose is to address the scaling and security challenges that plague Ethereum-like networks. Horizen focuses on scalable data privacy and leverages its proprietary sidechain technology, Zendoo, to enable organizations and developers to custom build their own public or private blockchains.
Horizen is now a permissionless blockchain network owing to Zendoo. Developers may use a number of SDKs to deploy their blockchains inside the ecosystem.
ZEN is the native cryptocurrency for the Horizen ecosystem. T-Addresses and Z-Addresses are the two types of ZEN addresses. T-Addresses are ordinary addresses, similar to Bitcoin addresses, where anybody can access the whole transaction history of an account. Shielded addresses are also known as Z-Addresses. When two Z-Addresses deal with each other, the transactions are entirely private, anonymous, and untraceable.
